Peter Herzog
Board Chairman
After a rich childhood in the great outdoors on the Eastern slope of California’s Sierra Nevada, Peter has spent most of his adult life in the world of real estate finance and investment. His passion for wild fish and habitat conservation was born during the long summer days spent with his father floating grasshoppers through the eddies of the Owens River in search of giant trout. Realizing these wild places he so enjoyed as a child are quickly vanishing, Peter is committed to doing “whatever is necessary” to preserve them for his children, grandchildren, and future generations of outdoor enthusiasts.

Peter’s interest in The Conservation Angler was spawned by a chance meeting of Pete Soverel in Kamchatka where both were in search of the “ultimate grab” of a wild steelhead take. Walking the banks of the Utholok River over the next 10 days, the two of Pete’s shared thoughts and philosophies about the importance of protecting these wild places and the fish that inhabit them... all of which aligned with the philosophy, history, and success of The Conservation Angler.

Peter Herzog sums up his thoughts by saying, “I have found the place that my contribution of time, effort, and resources will have a positive impact on the preservation of wild fish and their habitat.”
